Disaster Volunteer Reserves

Recently Anita Foster, Dallas Area Chapter Senior Communications Officer, was on Fox4 discussing disaster volunteer reserves. |
The Disaster Volunteer Reserves (DVR) is made up of caring individuals who want to work with the American Red Cross on large scale and catastrophic disaster relief operations.
DVRs are pre-trained and are activated to help only when the human resource needs of a disaster response exceed the Dallas Area Chapter’s regular volunteer base. Being a DVR is a great way you can be of service to millions of North Texas area residents in times of disaster — even with your busy schedule!
How Do I Join?
To become a DVR, you must be at least 18 years of age and have the desire to serve the community in times of disaster.
You will complete an online DVR application and attend an short overview class, focusing on the role of the American Red Cross in helping individuals and communities in times of disaster. You will then be added to the DVR, ready to assist the American Red Cross when your friends and community need you the most.
